Alright friends....I think that you all know what test I am talking about...EOG's. Being a third grader teacher it is my students first time taking the test and they tend to get very nervous. I'm looking for some good books or stories that I read to my students to help them get "pumped up!" Please list any suggestions!
THE TEST...Omg! I am a dad of a 4th and 1st Grade student. Third grade EOG's for my 9 year old, 8 at the time was so tough for me and him. His teachers stressed this exam for weeks in advance. My son is sort of an over achiever and loves to do well, but I think this side of his personality began to work against him a little. I remember the night before the exam how so very nervous he was. He came in my bedroom with me and him mom on several occasions saying, "Dad I just can't sleep". Then the morning of was no better. He had testing anxiety out of the roof!.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess I would say to those fellow teachers that will offer you good material to get them "pumped", I hope they suggest something on how to get the dears to "CALM THERE NERVES!" LOL.
Much success to you!
